5 Ways To Uplift and Change The World
|
Are you tired of the world as you see it today? Are you sick-and-tired of being sick-and-tired of crime,
war, poverty, drugs, high gas prices, HIV, racism, homophobia, and just plain ole politics as usual?
If so, then you’re not alone, but remarkably there is a solution, a path, a plan, and a strategy than can be
used to reverse the increasing tides of life. You see, it all begins with you. Yes, it simply begins with
you, one person, making a difference and eventually uplifting and changing the world all by yourself!!
Here are the 5 crucial steps:
1. Recognize That You Can Uplift and Change The World
the World All By Yourself
For a person to uplift and change the world all by themselves, their mind must be renewed, their thinking
must be refreshed, and their walk must be re-energized going forward as they navigate through this
journey called life. In actuality the way that you view the world and your position within it will truly
determine and affect your ability to uplift and change.
So just what is your point of view of life and your purpose and role? Let’s take a self-inventory and find
out.
-Do you see the glass of life as half-empty versus half-full?
-Do you believe that no matter how much you pray that things just don’t always turn out as they should?
-Do you believe that life isn’t fair and thus you don’t try as hard to engage it (i.e. job, relationship, etc)?
-Do you believe that you have no real power, wealth or influence to make a substantial world change, let
alone a local impact?
-Do you believe that no matter how much good you do, it will never truly be enough to affect real change
where it’s needed the most?
-Do you believe that power and control will continue to be held in the hands of a select few and not with
everyday people?
-Do you believe that racism, sexism, and homophobia will always be part of our society no matter how
much we try to eliminate it?
If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, then you have failed to recognize the amazing,
phenomenal power that lives inside of you. You see to answer yes to any of these questions is to signal
your conforming to the prevailing thought of the world.
As a unique, individuated spirit of our Mother-Father God, The Creator, we each possess the ability to
walk on water, perform unheard of miracles, move stubborn mountains, and leave the earth in a much
better shape than when we found it.
As spirited beings we have the ability to create heaven right here on earth, right now! We possess the
spiritual DNA needed to create something from nothing, to breathe in an idea and to construct the result.
We have the ability to see the invisible, to hear the inaudible and to flow in the awesome stream of light
waiting for us to recognize and to embrace it.
But even more exhilarating is to recognize and to embrace the fact that, as spirited beings, we have the
ability to do far greater things than Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, and all of the spiritual forerunners that
came before us have done.
If any of this is too far-fetched for you to fathom, understand, or embrace, then allow this to be the time
for you to start fathoming, understanding, and embracing. Yes, it’s scary at first, but as you allow the
spirit that dwells inside you to speak to the human self that houses it, then the answers and the “hows” will
soon be revealed.
And when this is done, you will find yourself uplifting and changing the world all by yourself, forever, and
forever.
2. Share Your Story And Your Testimony With At Least One Other Person
|

If you stop to think about it, we actually live through the inspiration and experiences of other people. We’
re taught as children by the adults who raised us on things to do and not do. We live our lives as moderate
replicas of the thought process and patterns of the environment from which came. We then begin to
evolve more into our authentic-selves as we learn, work, travel, become educated.
Our lives then in turn will inspire others. Our testimonies will then serve to uplift others who are going
through situations that we’ve already surpassed. Our story can save the lives of others. Our testimony can
inspire the lives of many. Our willingness to come clean and to show our vulnerabilities to others will
reverberate throughout humanity.
One person teach one. One person teach many. One story of inspiration, one testimonial of how you
overcame and the steps you took to get there is more valuable than any textbook knowledge about life.
Your one-on-one conversation with at least one person, may save them from suicide, or a life that is
destroyed nonetheless through various addictions. Your kind smile to complete stranger may get them
through a day of agony. Your warm hug and encouragement to a child may give them the confidence they
need to get through their childhood complexities.
Your personal testimony is far stronger than any preacher’s sermon. Your face and your voice, and your
experience lend credence to the fact that you indeed not just survive, but also thrive.
So please take the time to share your story and your testimony with someone else as their life may truly
depend upon you telling them about yours!
3. Host a get-together/mixer/salon/event that allows for both social interaction combined with serious discussion.
|
Start small with just yourself and perhaps five other people. Meet, greet, but then get to discussing pressing
topics impacting your lives. Don’t argue or debate any issue, as this is not the forum for either.
Instead, this is a venue where people can come together to share viewpoints, network, and strategize off-line
how best to enhance their local community and the world. This would not be a social venue for people to
come expressly to get dates. However, this would be a venue for people to come together to create a bond,
build collaborations, and create solutions instead of throwing gasoline on a problem.
Your get-together/mixer/salon/event must have a focus, a theme, and an initiative. In addition, your guest list
must include people who are willing to discuss the issues and viable solutions and not people who
immediately tune out once the socializing stops and the discussion begins.
You must have firm rules, no debates, and a strong moderator to control those individuals who would try
and soak up all of the attention in the room with loud voices and diva-like personalities. Again, be very
cautious who you invite. These events are meant to uplift and to provide strategies on changing the world
for good.
So how can you have such an event when you’ve invited a list of people who see the glass of life as half-
empty or who’re continuously pessimistic, negative, and truly don’t believe that one everyday person such as
themselves can uplift and change the world?
Again, start small, because big events don’t necessarily equate to success. Finally, always have an agenda,
and have fun while you’re at it!
4. Create an online presence where you are able to voice not only your opinions, but your proposed solutions.
|

Birth, death, taxes, and the internet are the four things that tie the world together, so why not take
advantage of it? It costs absolutely nothing to create a blog or MySpace.com page. It costs next to
nothing to create a web page.
In addition, website technology has gotten to point where all you have to do is point, click, copy, paste,
drag, and upload a few pictures, and voila, you have your own free standing website!!
By creating an online presence for yourself, where not only your rants are present but also your raves,
your solutions, your encouragement, your personal stories, and your testimonies are seen and heard. You
can indeed uplift and change the world forever.
If you don’t think so, then pause for a second. What exactly would a 13 year old boy in the Ukraine, a
55 year old grandmother in New Mexico, and a political staffer in the Prime Minister’s Office of Spain
have in common?
Actually nothing with the exception that all three subscribe to the same internet blog which originates
from your computer, located in your 1 bedroom apartment in Your City, Your Sate, Your Country.
Here’s how it works:
First, include meta tags in your site which are basically key words in the html coding which describe
what your site is about so that search engines can find it and bring it up based upon a person’s word
search.
Second, register your website/blog with search engines such as Google and Yahoo including sentence
descriptions and key words.
Third, hyperlink to several other websites of similar content and also ask other websites to hyperlink to
yours.
Fourth, promote your site/blog through e-announcements in online chat boards, personal listservs, etc.
So upon casual surfing an individual in Africa might come to your site, read your writings and become
intrigued. Meanwhile someone in China just bookmarked your site, and continues to visit. Next a
Jamaican subscribes to your site/blog.
So what you produce on the internet has the potential of seeding the consciousness of others from around
the world!! You truly have power to uplift and change the world with the mere tapping of buttons on a
keyboard or the clicks of a mouse.
In addition to your online essays you can also use advanced internet technology such as webcasting
(video) and podcasting (audio) directly from your site/blog. This truly gives you the immense potential to
do good and to give the world an example by which to follow.
So please use your newfound internet power carefully. Again, the goal is to provide solutions not just
stones of criticism as you are seeking to uplift and change the world, for good and forever!!
5. Run For Public Office, But Don’t Run To Win. Run To Make A Difference!!
|

Running for public office can actually be more powerful than securing office itself. For example, every
four years several high profile people run for the presidency of the United States but in actuality they
really don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the position.
What these candidates are able to achieve is to force light on the issues that would normally be swept
under the rug. By being a constant and vociferous thorn in the political side of the process, these people
actually do more to enlighten everyday people on political issues than the front running candidates ever
desire to do.
Why not replicate this in your local, state, and federal elections? Why not run a very clean, aggressive
campaign of telling the truth? Why not force the issues that really count in debates? Why not run to tell
the truth and not to secure the office itself?
Why not become the Al Sharpton of your community? Why not replicate this strategy as a way to force
the powers-that-be to take up the issues, make commitments, then hold their feet to the fire if they don’t
make good on them once they’re in office?
When you run for public office not to win, but to tell the truth and to enlighten others as to the pertinent
or key issues, then you give back to the everyday person the power of politics.
So think about it, and then run for the public office you’ve always wanted. Do the research and always
come prepared with solutions, not just critiques. Your impact will speak volumes.
