| Unseen Evidence: Faith Revealed by: Herndon L. Davis |
In my opinion, one of the most powerful statements in the New Testament of the Bible is that “Faith is
the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Wow, what an amazing
statement!! Here you’ve got before you factual, black-and-white if not vividly colored evidence of
everything that you need in life to succeed, but it’s completely invisible to the naked eye.
As a result, one must feel their way through life knowing that mentally there is indeed an infrastructure
up and running and waiting for them to use but with one small catch. This vibrant and intricate network
built for your continual good is neither viewable to you nor to those around you.
On the surface this seems to be a cruel joke by the Creator allowing Faith to be defined in such an
obscure manner. But upon closer examination there’s something intriguingly unique about Faith when it
is defined in such a cryptic yet obvious tones.
You see the process of establishing, growing, and standing upon one’s Faith creates a degree of
obedience, a depth of willingness, and a measure of testimony of a state of being far greater than
yourself.
Faith is meant for all to rejoice in and is not reserved as a singular capacity of thought for just one
person. While Faith reaffirms one person’s spiritual connection, it restores another’s. While Faith keeps
in perfect condition one person’s spiritual confirmation, it ignites another’s.
In actuality, Faith can be contagious and in some instances it can be extremely infectious if shared
intimately with those close to you. Faith is truly a quantity that can never be measured; a formula that
can never be solved; and a vision that can never be fully articulated. When you accept these facts, only
then will your knowledge be lengthened, your horizon broadened, and your spiritual connection deepened.
Faith is the foundation upon which the unbelievable is realized. It is also the instrument that commands
into existence the very thing that you were told as a child you could not do or become. Faith is both the
hammer and the nail which constructs something bigger than yourself. In fact, Faith is all you need
although you will never see it, instead you will see the results of having it.
Faith is the ultimate pathway of living as it can take you to enormous heights and into the presence of
greatness as it truly is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen for you and me and
the entirety of the world.
